Are Scent-Free Products Really Scent-Free?
UPdate Fall 1996

The Consumer Protection Division of Industry Canada presently allows .06% fragrance in scent-free products as a masking agent.  Industry Canada is considering regulations requiring ingredient disclosure so persons with allergies would know they are buying a somewhat scented product.  They are also considering reevaluating the practice of using masking agents.

Concerns and complaints should be forwarded to your provincial Consumer Protection Division of Industry Canada.  The Industry plans to look at this issue on an individual product basis, so if you plan to write, include the name of the product that is causing a problem.
