Lori"s Birdseed Granola Bars

1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 cup liquid honey or rice syrup
1/3 cup brown sugar - optional
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup rice crispies - sugar & gluten free
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup chopped dried fruit (apricots, dates, raisins, coconut)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds are good)
1/4 cup sesame seedsIn a small sauce pan add honey, sugar, and oil. Stir and bring to a boil. Simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Let cool slightly. In large bowl combine rest of ingredients. Gradually stir in syrupy mixture. Firmly press into 11x17 inch baking dish. Bake at 350F. for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool. Cut into squares.
